Before his time at Holy Cross he was the Head Coach at Worcester State University for five years. At Worcester State he was named USTFCCCA Indoor Regional Head Coach of the Year in 2011/2012. His team won five conference championships, set 24 school records, and national qualifiers. Mat holds a masters degree in Exercise Science in Physical Education. He holds three USATF Level II’s, and is a USTFCCCA Event Certified Specialist in Sprints/Hurdles/Relays, and Combined Events.
